Re: Varmint Scope Choice

+1 for the Sightron, had mine for about a month now on the .204, awesome scope for brightness, clarity and adjustments. They have a 6.5-20x50 with a 25mm tube in the SII range. Mine is 6-24 and i havent used it past 20x daytime and 16x under the light on shots out to about 200m. FOV decreases are qu...

Re: .204 for goats?

It would hit plenty hard enough.Only used BT bullets in my .204 for foxes, rabbits. Very explosive results as you would know. I haven't tried them yet but i reckon the Hornady 45gr Soft Point would be the bullet for the job. Bit heavier construction than than the varmint bullets.

Re: Sightron Scopes

Thanks for your help Missed, i might have to go the mil dot by the sounds of it .I dont like the idea of the dot reticle. It looks like bunnys could hide behind it past 150.

Re: Sightron Scopes

Native i was thinking of getting a 20x but the sightrons only have dot type reticles in that power, i just want a boring duplex. Just checked out arcadian sales that Missed recommended and they have a 8-32x56 SIII with a fine cross hair for $766.Might be a better choice i think.

Sightron Scopes

G'day, Im looking for a new scope for my .204 and was looking at the Sightron SII Big Sky 4.5-14x50. They seem good value, about $560 on eBay from the US. No gunshops i go to stock them so i havent seen one in the flesh. It will be mainly used under the light. Just wandering if anyone uses or has us...

Re: Which Rifles - Can you please Help me with some advice?

Go the HMR.
Inherently accurate round
Super flat to 120yds
Light fragile bullet=safe
Will drop anything up to those tall grey things if you slip one in front of the ear.

Re: Should I buy a Savage HMR?

G'day, i brought a Marlin hmr with the varmint barrel for 465 from HPGS. Shoots very accurate at 100m and pretty smooth action as well. The triggers are very heavy, $100 for a rifle basix replacement is well worth it. Only complaint about the marlin is the rear edge of the bolt handle has removed ab...

Re: rifle mounted torch

G'day i have the warrior m20 r5 which i use on my hmr and .204. They come with a picatinny mount and pressure switch which i highly recommend, makes shooting and scanning for targets easier. At 100m i can easily see a fox through my scope (vx1 4-12x40) and at the 200m you get plenty of eye colour bu...

Re: Olight

G'day mate, I have a Olight warrior r5 that i mount on top of my scope via a picatinny rail and it has the pressure switch included. I got a smooth reflector to tighten up the beam, easliy good for picking up foxes out to 200yds. Great for shootin on foot. Anyway mine cost Bout 130 from jpt-australi...
