Re: .22Hornet
Some swear by 22H others at them, the problem is the 22H headspaces on the rim, by 22KH the headspace moves to the shoulder. Dies, use Redding neck die or Lee Collet, Redding body die to size case, don't use a FLS the necks are pulled out of alignment. Small pistol primers, theory is the smaller fla...

Re: Solvents....what's your prefered?
Clarify, when I said very slight amount of Hoppes or penetrene, I mean whats left after patching out before firing. After a rifle has been fired all the lubricant goes up in smoke. I'm not saying firing a shot in a oily barrel, do that and you'll be shopping for a new barrel. IMHO most barrels are s...

Re: Solvents....what's your prefered?
I use Chux cut to size as a patch. To remove carbon use Mercury Power Tune on a bristle brush, patch out, then KG12 copper solvent, then Hoppes No.9 when putting back in safe. I've been told never to fire a dry clean barrel, causes gouling, the proj needs a very slight lubricant, Hoppes or Penetrene...

Re: Zeroing for varminting what your preference???
Hi Plowboy, I agree with you about passing on tips and info, I've shooting with a air rifle since I was eight(1968) and are still learning, like a good machanic you have to learn to trouble shoot your rifle, scope, mounts, bedding, reloading etc. I keep records and targets of every load in a file an...

Re: Zeroing for varminting what your preference???
Hi Plowboy, Lots of good tips here, I have my 223 sighted in 1 1/2" high at 100m, with 50grn Nosler Shots groups 3/4" 5 shot groups, as a check I shoot a group at 200m. Mistakes I've made is under estimatimating the wind on 50grn projestiles and adjusting the scope only to find I have over...

Re: Seating Depth
Hi Guys, Seating depth is one the post important measurements for accuracy, look at the articles in Guns & Game magazine compring factory to reloads, factory is one size fits all. This is my way, not original, not the most accurate but very close. You need, 1) cleaning rod(jag removed), 2) 2 x c...

Re: Cheapest way to get into reloading
From my experience, Lee handler dies are no good, the purpose of reloading is to get the maximum performance from your rifle, this can only be done by reloading. Best cheapest route; 1) buy a second hand press, RCBS, Redding, Lyman - $150, doesn't matter if it's old, you can't were them out. Find a ...
