I just purchased a Ruger Go Wild in 7mm/08 but .308 is also offered. These are Cerakoted in bronze, 3 lug bolt, fitted with a muzzle brake and a good recoil pad. They take an A1 style magazine and are under $2k.

May be worth a look.

Don't know, I haven't been to the range yet but prior to the stock change 39gr BK were under 1/2 inch so should be interesting.
