Hate to admit it but I think the HG will continue to be the dominate class mainly due to being able to send those big 30 and up bullets down range without kicking the shit out of the firer. Being able to see the bullet holes is a huge advantage, yes the smaller caliber can run with the 30's in accur...

VV N165

Hi
Where does N165 come in the burn rate, is it close to 2213 or up around 2217.
I have 2kg of it and want to use it in my 280AI, will it be ok, there's no load data published for 280, but last weekend used 58.5gr behind 168 and 180 pressure seemed ok, does that load sound to hot ???
Thanks

JR F Class and BR have very different needs and weight limits, so here goes for a 1000BR HG I don't think you can go past a 300ACK or similar, for FC and LG, with no brake, 6.5x284 or similar(55AI, 57AI etc) and the 7mm in 284/ 280 and the AI version, but if you get a good day (don't see to many of ...

Hi Dave Using Lapua 30-06 cases, they're not as good as some of their other cases but stil better than rem or win. I've been tempted to try the Nosler premium brass but haven't heard what it's like yet. In 30-06 form they measure 2.485", when necked down to 280 they measure 2.491" and when...

Tony Z, JR & Dave G What sort of powder charges of 2213sc and 2217 work in this caliber ?? Ran my new barrel in today and then shot 4 x 5 shot groups, 2 using 55gr of 2213 and with 168SMK and 162Amax total group went about 1" @ 300 for both projectiles, the other 2 groups were 51gr of 2209 ...

JR Measured them up after our chat last night the agg was 3.26" with one 5+" group, although you get points for group it's predominately a score match, saying that one target has 4 in the 10 ring and 1 in the 6 and the group went about 3". IMO you need a gun that shoots elevation well...

My FO gun is 22 pound, I have thought about shooting HG at the Fly with it, but I really want to get an outright win with a 6BR in LG but it really depends on the conditions on the day !!!!

Jeff Has ther been a push to change rifle weights ?? I don't, and wouldn't expect others to want to change rifle weights to include FO style guns. If I want to make weight for light gun and use a 30" barrel I have to change from a NF to a T36 Weaver or use a 27" barrel, I certinly don't ex...

To be honest, I beleive there is a fair bit of luck involved to shoot a sub 5" group for light and sub 8" group for heavy spotted or not. Both ways have their pro's and con's but really can't be compared. The easiest way to solve the problems is to keep records for both types of shooting. ...
