Re: 39gr SBK

ATN,

39s pushed by 28gr of 2206H with rem 7 1/2s, are it for me now. Sub .2 MOA if I do my bit. Head shots on bunnies out to where ever.

all the best,

Re: loads for .222rem

My favourite alround load is 25gr of W748 pushing a 52gr HPBT, but 2207 has worked pretty good for me toopushing 40gr Vmaxs upto 50gr BKs, and as a powder easier to find than 748.

Good luck and have fun.

I'm much too anal to use a thrower

I've made scoops out of the same cailber case for all mine and then trickle up to weight.

I couldn't live with being .1 gr out, it's an obsessive/compulsive thing.

If you can wait, I'd go the XR-100. I'm really happy with mine in .204 and it consistently shoots in the .1s and .2s. Its also well made, great straight out of the box.

Good luck with your decision.

Never tried the 40gr Vmax, but the 32Gr Vmax did OK ( < 1"), but the 39gr BKs certainly match my XR (1 in 12 twist).

JBS

My vote's for the remi, but if your want to save the $, there's nothing wrong with a Howa, especially if your going to put the saved $ into a good scope.

Rinso,

I heard that there was a problem getting them from various people, but everytime I needed some I always found some (the W748 anyway). If your ever need any let me know, I come out your way a bit.

WOOB,

My belief for this cartridge is, if used for varminting, buy the best quality, highest magnification scope that you can afford and put it on a REMY (as Trevort said. That way you get the best out of the cartrdge, IMO.

Agree with Rinso on the ADI powders, I've also had lots of luck with W748.

Native Hunter,

You are the pin-up boy for the XR-100.

That kinda shooting could take the head off a bunny at 300, easy.
