I think the answer could be the rain you were shooting in between. Flags when they get wet hang down the pole and do not respond to small wind shifts. My guess is that their was wind pick ups and you were not seeing it.

Befor you blame variations in velocity on powder batch variations it might pay to check your chronograph. Cheap chronographs are notorious for giving velocity variations with changes in light / tempreture.

I am interested in the Vortex range of spotting scopes. A mate looked through one at the Brisbane Queens and he said it was awesome. Who is the Australian agent and who do you guys buy from.

Lapua cases O/K for standard loads. Win cases only needed if you go to Match Rifle and need the extra capacity for the 200 gn + projectiles.

Hi Stinkitup For Fstandard using 155 BJD projectiles in a 30" barrell use cci br2 primer and 2208 powder. 2206H is too hot at the top end. Aim for about 2970 fps. You will need obout 45.8 gns of powder. Seat at or just into the lands. Iam using this load in my Barnard with 30" 13 twist Kre...

Used to have a set of 10x50 Nikon's for hunting tahr in NZ. Changed to 8x30 Ziess. Like chalk and cheese.Carry them all day suspended around your neck and the big Nikons get very heavy. Try John Eland at Everlite Travel Goods 0394973829.He makes custom cases to any dimension.Took one to England and airline could't dent it. Know of one that a deer shooter drove his landcruiser over with rifle inside and no damage.
