I have shot various 80 grain bullets out of a few 223 barrels,you need a throat long enough so that when the bullet is seated,the bullet boatail junction should be forward of the case neck shoulder junction. Around 25 grains of powder is needed to get suitable results.

First up,make a secure pen/yard for the poultry,only allow them out under close supervision,next step if you want to is try to trap the Fox.It doesn’t matter how many foxes you kill,there are always more waiting for an easy meal.

If you are not to fussy about the dimensions of the hole and have some power in your welder,up the amperage and bore a hole with your welder.

It is berdan primed,possibly corrosive,primers well crimped in,I would be wary of the cupronickel projectiles,they are prone to give metallic fouling in barrels.It is a long time since I used it,however my impression was that it was higher pressure than US military ammo,the powder was a square flake.

When I started reloading in the 1960‘s,there were backlockers.I had a Gevarm,my brother an Anshutz,probably the idea was to hold the loads to a modest level,probably a step up from the Hornet.WhenI saw Camel‘s data recently I was amazed,if things progress like this,in the future we will see Hornets ...

thanks guys,tony i dont turn necks and i do use winni cases with 2208. i have some adi brass and did load 2 cases with the same powder charge,but the pill crunched in on top of the powder and im a bit sceptical about using them. maybe i will use the adi cases when powder starts getting hard to get ...

On the same topic, if anyone here were to ever want a chunk of Tasmanian Blackwood, or Macrocarpa, Red Maple, or Cypress (not sure how any of those timbers would affect performance, but they're pretty) we have all of these here in large logs at the moment. You'd pay freight of course but the timber...

Maximum load, 45grains,2922fps,51,000 CUP.
Not the highest velocity loads but still usefull.
