Reply to an old one ... no one has mentioned the obvious reason that the Creedmoor is doing so well.... 6.5 cal in an AR10 platform in the US. Some crazies over there use semis for long range target work.
Yes, I have one

Re: Sourcing factory brass for reloads. Which is best?
I got some PMC brass years ago for my 223. It was okay enough to be accurate and consistent but cheap enough that I didn't cry for hours when I lost one. It's been a while but I still have most of them. If were to do it again I would just sack up and buy Lapua.

Re: CZ 527 17 HORNET
I've always FLS everything I reload. It became a habit long before I realised it wasn't necessary. Funnily enough, I still get quite good case life from everything. Some Norma 6.5x55 Brass is still going from the 80s .. though I am retiring them as I find them. Most of them have had 20+ reloads .. e...

Re: Cz527 varmint load development with 32gr z max
Have to sell something else to get anything these days ... running out of toys that I can do without !!
On the upside, I have a recently retired Ruger 223 that I could rebarrel ...

Re: CZ 527 17 HORNET
I hate Hornady dies as a matter of course but short of options. They seem to be okay ( haven't broken a pin on first use unlike others ) so far.

Re: CZ 527 17 HORNET
Seems to be the thing to do .. CZ527 in 17 Hornet ... glad to see ! I see you're using the faster powders. After reading I decided to try the 2207 ( as I had some and most people were doing well with it ) rather than the faster stuff due to reports of erratic performance. Next comes the VV powder. I...

Re: FFP Scope and Varminting
I don't have a need for mil dot type recticles so tend to avoid them, hence having a z plex (tm) in this one. If I need to know the range I bust out the handy rangefinder. I guess I will stick with it for the time being. If I find it doesn't work for me I will deal with it then. It is a great scope ...

FFP Scope and Varminting
Some may have noticed I mentioned I had a FFP scope in my 'range report'. I hadn't paid much attention to the whole FFP/SFP thing to date as everything I have used was SFP and that was that. Has anyone had any experience with using a FFP scope for varminting? What I have is a Zeiss Conquest 3-12x56 ...

Re: Range Report - CZ 527 17 HH
'Too fast' means the burn rate .. not the velocities !! If the powder burn rate is too fast you can run into pressure problems and so on. Some of the powders listed by the guys here have been tried in other people's rifles and shown to be erratic ... the caveat is that it is in other people's rifles...

Re: Range Report - CZ 527 17 HH
Thanks for the feedback guys. The primers were my not paying attention. I ran out about 3/4 of the way through repriming the batch and totally forgot to separate them. By the time I'd remembered, the deed was done. Funnily enough the 4 foulers I used at the beginning with 4 different loads and two d...

Range Report - CZ 527 17 HH
Following on from the leaders in the 17 Hornet field, I shamelessly stole their AR2207 loading data and ran some reloads up for myself. I headed out to Little River today to try them out. The weather was plain atrocious .. winds were not that strong but gusting right to left, it rained intermittentl...

Re: CZ 527 17 HH - First Impressions
Thanks for the invite, I will be taking you up on it ... but not sure if I will let you near the gun .. my ego isn't able to take too much bruising.
And yeah, conditions sucked... but at least we were able to play with it.
