Re: How much are 39grSBK's over east
But Grumpy That is the whole piont, you based projectile prices on the cost of importing a container. In that case yes you are correct. But cmon, do you think any Importer brings in a container of 5000. I can tell you they dont and they couldnt because as you pionted out the cost to import will make...

Re: How much are 39grSBK's over east
Grumpy Your post is good but its completly incorrect I know because we bring out a seacon once a month Your charges are close but you forget one thing, that frieght charge all up doesnt get distributed among the projectiles. Its distributed among the full container load which consists of scopes, rif...

Re: CF rifles with interchangable barrels
Plowboy 270 is a big round, too much for a pig or goat, 270 is a Sambar round. What about a 308 win, that way you get plenty of projectile choice, you can go from 80 grains all the way up to 170 gns (yes there is bigger but twist rate will kill the bigger ones). Now that gives you cheaper 80 gns for...

Plowboy
What is the intended use, 270 is a big round, what would be your other calibre

Re: CF rifles with interchangable barrels
What calibres do you want to have. Buy a second hand one in one of the calibres you want from used guns, then order your barrel and have the smith fit it. I would also go with the Rem 700 as you can go to brownells or Sinclairs and get your barrel tools.

You can build one of a Rem 700 action as well. All you need is a barrel vise and an action wrench. Have your gunsmith pin your recoil lug and then set up both barrels and away you guy.
Shane is doing my 700 as we speak, 20 practical and 223 rem.

Can I ask you why your chasing that extra 100 fps, does it really make that much difference. I punched it into the ballistics calculator and all that it really gains is 4 inches less drop over 500 mts.

Re: Competition seater
I think I MAY HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM. I bought a bulk pack oF 168 gn SMK's from Elks and when loading them that is where I get all the variances. I have some 155gn Palma's and laoded them and they all come out the same. I reckon the bulk pack maybe seconds. They dont seem round at the ogive either.

Re: WHICH SCOPE WOULD YOU BUY
Well I really want the Illuminated reticle, they are so so good with the spotlight. But I also (as Trev mentioned) really want the target turrets as I do need to dial in the drop, and you cant with normal turrets (well not as easy). Not impressed with Varmint style reticles as they vary so much cali...

wow
A 3oo magnum Sako is a dangerous lonr range snipe rifle, what about a Rem 700 Varmint or any other 308 or even a 223. If ya know how to shoot and can calculate your ballistics, dont matter what ya shoot, they are all dangerous IN THE WRONG HANDS
