Re: What new builds have you dreamt up during these idle times?

I’ve been reading about the same thing this morning. Started at 22 Creed then progressed to 22 BR, then thought straight 6br because I have a Maddco 6mm 1:14 twist blank siting here. Thought I don’t need another 6br, maybe 6/284 and burn the barrel as quick as possible. Now back at 22 creed because ...

Re: Neck Sizing vs Full Length

I used neck size, then Fl size as required. I read an article - cannot remember by who a few years back. It basically convinced me that FL was the best way to go and the logic it used to explain it i felt was sound - i don't remember all of it, but one thing that stuck with me was that the article f...

Re: Kahles k1050x56

I was also looking at getting one but couldn't find much web info on them. I handled one at magnums along side the similarly priced night-force competition. And I must say from my point of view the khales had it all over the night force.

I will definitely be getting one in the next month or so.

Re: All you scope enthusiasts

The Z3 and Z5 are great scopes. Personally I would want less on the lower end 2.5/3 max, 4 is a little too much for close shots. What distance you think you might shoot out to? I use a 3.5-10 SIII Sightron out to 600-700 no troubles. Shooting game and targets are completely different, you don't need...

Re: Knife brands

Give the guys at akc knives a call. They have a great collection. I now exclusively use a D.H. Russell R1 & R4, best handling knives. Akc are also a lot cheaper then anyone I could find. You will be impressed with their collection and advice.

Re: Giving some thought to the perfect spolighting rig

I just went through the same process and have settled on a sako 85 rebarrelled in straight 204, (the 223 barrel had been shot out). I went to 24 inches but will also be curious about performance of a shorter barrel. I personally don't believe the nightforce scopes have the performance of other euro ...

Re: Rem700 in 22Hornet

If I remember correctly I think someone by the the name of 'Ron' put one together. I think it was Shane Clancy who built it, just cannot remember if it was on here or AHN.

Yep, I knew that.

They may shoot better that's all.

Re: Heavy Varmiter - for heavy varmits

Great shooting, try though Bergers even further off the lands,( after reading an article/ or there web cannot remember now) I tried them jumping 100 thou in my 270 wsm sako. If I do I my part and let it cool between shoots I can get 1 inch groups at 200m.

Re: WSM calibres

I have a 270 wsm in a Sako 85 hunter stainless. Shooting the Berger 130s and 2209 it is very accurate at just under 3200 fps. Could go quicker but accuracy drops off. Great calibre, if you don't have any standard 270 stuff then I would say go for it in a 270 wsm, if however you do have the 270 stuff...

Re: CZ vs Tikka

Both are exceptionally accurate for factory rifles. The main difference would be all metal parts for the cz, and the cz is built on a purpose built action to suit the 223 case, the tikka uses a standard long action for a 30/06 with a bolt stop. I would guess that the cz would be shorter because of t...

Re: Sydney gunsmith with 260AI reamer

RDavies,

Tell me more. I have a 338 wssm reamer for sale at the moment from PT&G.

What rifle did you use. Photos please. What projectiles are you using and how do they feed and fit in the wssm mag?

I love wssm wildcats.

Cheers
