So did anyone end up getting a .19 from the states?
I saw these a while ago and think they look like fantastic bits of gear and would consider buying the 19-223 if they are worth the effort.

Mick

Re: Which Rimfire Rifle Is Better?
I have shot more rabbits with single shot 1901 winchester with open sights than anything else so where does that leave me? Until I get fair use of both rifles concerned I'll keep my opinion to myself, up until that point it would merely be an uneducated guess! Currently my experience with 452'...

Re: Small pack for hunting
I've got a small blackwolf backpack, has room for a water bladder and one main pocket which fits everything you'll need. It's small, cheap and has a removable waterproof cover for it in the bottom if it starts to rain. It also has a good gap between your back and the pack so you don't get too hot. M...

Re: Ruger No 1
Just out of interest I saw a model 1 .223 at a gunshop in sydney the other day, it was in great nick and apparently they can be accurised very well. One of the range officers at st marys has one.

Re: 7mm/08
JasonF: Thanks, I'll jump on there soon and have a look. What do you guys think of this setup? sounds alright to me. 270: mentioning a rifle like this creates some real problems for me as I am specifically chasing a stainless laminate but am a sucker for a nice blue/wooden rifle (which I imagine thi...

Re: 7mm/08
JasonF: what is AHN? Feralbuster: that's what has steered me away from the compact, I've got .30/30 which is what I use for close range work, I wouldn't mind something to reach out a bit further and bowl them over! I've looked at the Tikka and didn't like it, I know they shoot well and the guys at m...

Re: 7mm/08
trying to find the right rifle in 7mm/08 is proving to be a bit of a challange!
The ruger compacts look quite nice but wouldn't be accurate enough over a long distance with the 16" barrel.
Other than that the hawkeye seems like the best option in Stainless laminate.

Re: tenterfield, folded tin with a couple of holes in it whistle
Weribee: I bought one but don't like the sound it produces (I know it's more to do with whether or not the fox likes it but if I'm not comfortable using it I'm not going to).

The only problem that I can see with the 7mm08 is that I don't have one!

Re: tenterfield, folded tin with a couple of holes in it whistle
Drew first blood with my Tenterfield on Monday, worked a bit too well one one fox, I thought he was going to try and nick the whistle out of my mouth!

Another vote for the CZ! But I'd go a heavy barrel, I've got a sporter but I'd like a heavy barrel for it.

Re: tenterfield, folded tin with a couple of holes in it whistle
Finally got off my arse and bought a Tenterfield (Don't have a drill at my new place). Within about 20secs of having it out of the wrapper I had it going (you're born with skills like that  ). Took it for a try out today but couldn't turn a trick, I blame the bitterly cold wind that howled all ...

Re: Ruger laminate stock
So the older rugers are generally a better item than the newer ones? ie the old paddle stock synthetic ones?.
