It's all very easy to blame the distributor for price increases, but if you knew what the buying price to the trade was I think you would find that the huge mark ups might be happening somewhere else.
We've got it....you want it...you will pay our price for it.

Re: 17PPC
Stuart Elliott (BRT) designed one these back in the 1980's, but the case was slightly shortened. A mate in Adelaide here has a 20 PPC and can hit 4400fps with a 39gn Sierra. If you really want some speed out of it try 8208 powder. That will do it. Of the available 220 Russian brass, Lapua is the str...

Re: New Australian BR record pending
Wow and I thought 2219 was the ADI powder of choice... thats a fantastic agg! It can be...if your rifle 'tunes' to it. This powder is sold in the USA as H322. Many BR shooters use Vitavhouri 133, and that powder is the number one choice in the USA. The PPC is a very flexible cartridge when it comes...

Re: New Australian BR record pending
Amazing stuff well done. Can I ask what Column bullets are? I think Eric will explain it better than I can. NEW – Berger 6mm BR Column Bullet Posted February 28, 2012 There have been Bench Rest bullets in the past which were well-known for achieving consistently small groups over a wide tune range ...

New Australian BR record pending
Stuart Elliott had his best result ever at the 100 yard section of the Harry Madden Heavy Rifle event last Sunday. His aggregate of .1556 is under the current record. That agg started with a .088 group followed by four more groups in the ones. His rifle is a Bat action fitted with a Maddco barrel, a...

Re: Very Bad News - Passing of Jim McKinley
What a blow for the shooting sports in the ACT.
I have known Jim for over 30 years - he used to have tea at my place when he came to Adelaide on business.
He will be sorely missed by all.
My sincere sympathy and condolances to his family.

Re: You know what i hate the most about shooting...
I sympathise with people who have been dicked around by "gunsmiths" - however, could I make a small suggestion that might cut down the time line. In my sport of benchrest we get through a few barrels looking for that magic 'hummer' barrel - that one stick that cuts wind and shoots perfect ...

Re: Wally Siebert
That is sad news. I contacted Wally a couple years back about a rifle chambered in 23/40 from memory. Little BR rifle. It was built by Wally for one of his friends here in Oz. He even sent me a couple old photos of the early BR years here in Oz. That rifle is now with Pete VanMeurs... bit of histor...

Wally Siebert
I have just been advised that our old friend Wally Siebert passed away. Wally is best known as a scope expert, and was the man largely responsible for the higher powered leupold scopes. Many Aussie shooters will have a scope modified by Wally for higher magnification. Wally was also a keen benchrest...

Re: Federal Cup - 500M Fly Nationals - RESULTS
Looks like some very good shooting was done there. I see that the usual suspects are at the top.
Good to see that Fly shooting is so popular in Australia.

Re: A re-think on Rimfire shooting.
Having represented Australia numerous times in centrefire benchrest, I will just chuck in a few thoughts here. The object of ANY team selection, is to finish up with the very best team emebers from the AVAILABLE people competing. Let me explain. Team selection for the World Centrefire Benchrest Cham...

Copper head bullets
Be advised that Ken Melgaard suffered a heart attack last Friaday, and was rushed to hospital He has had surgery and is now very slowly on the mend. If you have orders for bullets etc, you might just have to be patient, and leave him in peace to re cuperate. I am sure that I speak for all in wishing...

Re: Rail Gun Shoot
Yes I can understand that people would see this as too easy. Believe me it is not. Yes, the rail takes away the problem of holding the rifle correctly. Yes, the sheer weight makes recoil of no consequence BUT and it's a big BUT...it teaches one how to read the wind, and that is the secret to success...
