Re: CZ owners

I have three CZs, and I'm anxiously awaiting #4, in .17 Hornet, if and when they ever get around to filling my order. :( I like them a lot. :D :D The .22 Hornet is sweet and inexpensive to feed, the .221 is my most accurate rifle (out of several, including heavy barrelled rifles) and the .204 is 100...

Re: Savage Mod 25 17 HH abit of a run down and report

I passed by a chance to buy a thumbhole M25 yesterday, for $579, as I just can't like the thing. I'm waiting on a CZ, which I expect by May or June, here in the states. I have stockpiled some brass, ammo and bullets already, and am scrounging data, also. I've got everything except the rifle, and all...

It won't be long now...................

I've got the dies, powder, primers, bullets, all I need is the rifle and some ammo for cases.

Re: I'm gonna buy a Hummer

I did the combo thing with my 455, and added a .22 Magnum barrel for it later. So far, it's been a lot of fun, but I haven't messed around with either magnum barrel much. I still have a traincar load of different .22LR ammo to try out, before dinking around with the others. I've had a Marlin .17HMR ...

Re: Gunblast review of the Ruger 77/17HH - Hornady Hornet

Yeah, but Whittaker's reloading section leaves a lot to be desired, frankly  ......... And his handgun selection is easily bettered right here in town, without the drive. Luckily, Kentucky is "gun friendly" and we don't have to fight and fight in this state, for keeping our rights se...

Re: Gunblast review of the Ruger 77/17HH - Hornady Hornet

Good to hear whispers of the CZ in Jan for the U.S. I live in the States. Nearby to Whittaker's (www.whittakerguns.com). I've been saving my pennies, waiting for them to get here. Whittaker's is a large CZ retailer, he carries a LOT of them, so I plan on waiting for them to come in, and then run do...

Re: Winchester's forthcoming .17WSM

I wonder if re-chambering existing HMR rifles would be possible?... Only if you're shooting a Contender Carbine. It's too fat, too long, and generates too much pressure for typical HMR rifle, which is just a rebarrelled .22 Magnum. To make it work, it'll have to have a Hornet-length action, like a ...

Huntsman 22 has been racking up an enviable kill record with his rifle, and most of us haven't even seen one yet.

Re: Your Ultimate Rimfire

Ah hell, I guess I've got mine now. CZ455, with all three barrels (just picked up a .22Mag barrel last week.) I've got a couple rimfire scopes, one zero-ed for each chambering. I swap scopes when I swap barrels. I've had a wad of 10/22s, and they just don't set me on fire. Neither do the Marlin 60 I...

Re: Marlin updates rimfire line with XT Series

Don't forget that Marlin's XS-7s and XL-7s have that "trigger with a shoe" on them, also. They might as well have said, "Since Savage was beating our arse at sales, we had to imitate the Accutrigger, or else we'd never sell another rifle". :D That Marlin trigger isn't anything li...

Re: Late to the whole 17HMR FAD

I have lotsa pics of dead prairie dogs, how many can you stand? Honestly, though, after several trips up to SD from Kentucky, I don't take many pics any more, all the gutpiles look alike, and one prairie dog looks like most any other one, empty of innards :D Coons I don't even take pics of...

Re: Late to the whole 17HMR FAD

I've just bought my third HMR, and I own a couple of .204s, too (and a Hornet, a .221 Fireball, and a couple of .223s, besides.) I like them all, and they all work, for one thing or another. I pretty much just use the HMR for hunting and killing stuff, it's a great little rifle for prairie dogs, whi...

Re: What went wrong?

I've had essentially the same thing happen with Remington .221 Fireball cases. I bought a 100ct. bag, and loaded them with a relatively mild load, and boxed them up for about a year, maybe a little longer. When I took them out to shoot them (one fifty round box) I had 25 out of the 45 fired split th...

This is shot at 100 yards, and the data is in "American" but whatever H-4831 SC is in "Australian", it's always a good choice. That's five shots, BTW, not three. Winchester 70 Classic, Leupold Vari-XII, 3-9. 130 Sierra Pro-Hunter (flat-based spitzer) Federal 215M primer Wincheste...

Re: Are the CZ 455s downunder yet?

We've got him pretty well neutered for now, and that's an excellent thing :D He got gobsmacked in the midterm elections this month, and now we've got him by the short and curlies, he can't do anything unless the Congress agrees to pay for it, and they're on the opposing team. In fact, just...
