Re: Primer shape
Cases sized correctly and the same? Virgin cases? Headspace can make a difference. Also you weighing each charge or just throwing? Cases had been fired once before, everything else is exactly the same. Weighing each charge on digital scales. Headspace was checked by gunsmith and he said it was fine...

Primer shape
Hi guys.
Ive been out testing loads for my .308 today
I have noticed that the primers from the same powder lot (41.8gr) are different shapes after firing. 2 are alot flatter than the other two with the same powder charge.
Is this strange? Im thinking they should all be similar shape.
Thoughts?

For the guys that dont come to Ausvarmint often anymore, tell us about the rifle.
I had a .204Ruger VT that liked them too. Cant remember the load anymore but I was using AR2206H.

Re: Crimping
I remember reading that crimping is used to protect the projectile from shifting in the case neck in heavy recoiling rifles. Im not sure, but what you say about increasing pressure makes sense to me.

Keith you are 100% correct. BTs arent designed for penetration. Simple as that.

Re: 223 goat loads
I agree with Chris, I would not use plastic tips on anything the size of a Goat. A softpoint projectile would be my first choice.

Case trimming for .204R
Just wondering what people are using to trim their .20cal cases. I have looked at a few different brands and they all need extra bits bought to fit the .204R
Does anyone know of a hand trimmer tool that would be suitable?

Re: Prob. retailer with stock
I think it comes down to how the operator wants to run their business. Some may be happy to sell at the upper end of RRP while others want to sell at the lower end hoping to attract a few more sales or possibly gain some LONG TERM business relationships. I know I would be trying to attract regular b...
