Re: Best group yet with the 25-06 and home rolled ammo

Nice group mate and you are spot on, some of the factory rifles can really shoot these days.

Re: factory 204's

We can add 2 more to that list now Drew, met 2 blokes shooting them at the range recently and they both were getting tight groups as well.

Re: factory 204's

Yeah they will get plenty of work still, the .222 is the knock about (very accurate) roo rifle, spotlight gun and loaner as I got it for free and I just look at it as a barrel saver. The 22.250 is also extremely accurate but will mainly be used on goats now (saving the 270WSM for deer and bigger) an...

Re: factory 204's

To be honest I would say you would be very unlucky as every other one I have seen is an absolute Tack driver, and the service from them was exceptional in returning the faulty rifle.

I would be very suprised if you had a problem.

Re: factory 204's

I got my Remington VSSF II replaced recently as I was unlucky to get a bad one, but the replacement was super accurate from the box on run in and is now consistantly shooting .3 - .4 in load development. I expect this to get even tighter as the first day was blowing pretty hard.

Re: Running in the .204 Ruger and .375 Ruger -- Good Results

I was expecting them to be doing around that, I have some fine tuneing to do and want to shoot it in calm conditions and see what its really capable of.

But before that I will have a crack at some targets with blood in them.

Re: Running in the .204 Ruger and .375 Ruger -- Good Results

Didn't test it the other day but will definitely be on the next range day. I'm going to test it shortly to see if it has enough splat factor.

Running in the .204 Ruger and .375 Ruger -- Good Results

Took the Remington VSSF II .204 Ruger and Ruger Hawkee African Safari .375 Ruger out today and was extremely happy with the results. The day took place at Silverdale rifle range on the 100m benches. The conditions were quite blowy. I single shot run the the rifles in and then began with load testing...

Re: VSSF II 204 first day at the range and didn't get results.

Raytrade have been nothing but professional with this and agree it should tac drive and have offered to replace it with a brand new one. I have seen nothing but tac drivers from these and I was just plain unlucky, shit happens and I have a good result now. Might even be getting a slightly modified o...

Re: VSSF II 204 first day at the range and didn't get results.

Took it to the range it was worse, factory ammo still tumbling, I have sent it back for the last time now and have stated that I dont want it back. Every single one I have seen is half inch out of the box thats why I bought it. Even yesterday I was next to another one that was just punching through ...

Re: VSSF II 204 first day at the range and didn't get results.

Fingers crossed, hopefully that solves the problem.

Mevo I saw the CZ in action and if thats working I would send it back .

I will have 2 extremes that day, 375 ruger run in and 204 load development.

Re: VSSF II 204 first day at the range and didn't get results.

It was found to have a faulty crown, from your experienecs what do you think of this? Apparently it has been recrowned and is fine now? Still have to pick it up and test it.

Re: 375 Ruger Latest addition to Safe

Jethro thats spot on,

Case dimentions are here. The design allows for more powder giving it a slight advantage in ballistics over the 375 H&H in a short action.

Re: 375 Ruger Latest addition to Safe

If I ever get enthused about the idea of shooting scrub bulls or buff then I might get something similar . Very nice . What about Black Bear because thats what its for then whatever I want to point at it, more than likely a lighter load samba gun or any of the bigger game. My 270 WSM will take all ...
