ROFL = Rolling On the Floor Laughing.
Or to look even cooler.... ROFLMAO.

ojr: When "Weatherby" is posted the software detects it and replaces it with "Weatherby". The reason I can get it to work is because I type it like this....

Code: Select all

Have your tried some stores in Melbourne? Might save you some shipping. There is a guy here who doesn't stock any items Winchester import(ie. CZ), something about the gun store having to take responsibility for firearm mishaps rather than Winchester. Anyway, he showed me some Savage rifles because t...

Thanks for the guidelines Ned. The funny thing is I can't answer many of those questions. I'm really buying a rifle for the hell of it and trying to justify what it can be used for. I can see most of you here aren't just the ordinary, plain-jane, average shooters. Some of the cartridges mentioned I'...

Well initially I set out to buy a nice wood/blue rifle, then a thumbhole laminated with s/s barrel, then a synthetic with black barrel. Seeing as though I haven't seen many thumbhole stocks it'll probably be best if I bought the xr100. If anything though, this low calibre would be the one I carry th...

Thanks for the help guys. :) In regards to the calibre choice, its seems pretty unanimous that I should get something medium to low. I was reading a few varminting forums and the main discussion is between .223, .204 and .22-250. When they started talking about ranges 400+, the .243 and .25-06 came ...

Heaps of questions from a newbie.

Hi all, I've finally got my first rifle(.22lr) and now eager to buy my first centrefire. It'll be used at the range, probably once a month but there are some properties I may be able to shoot on that have mainly rabbits and foxes. Although, don't interpret that as meaning a small calibre rifle, I'm ...

Thanks for the advice shane. I wasn't aware of any of that, didn't know it's so complicated. Arch, I'm Giunta on AHN btw. :D The bi-pod weighs quite a bit. The website says 1.58lbs for the bipod and the adapter. Mine is the Versa-Pod Model 51 Bipod(150-051). I bought 2 from snipercentral.com and the...

Thanks Juniorhunter. :) I forgot to add one thing, the bi-pod is on backwards. :D You can probably see why it is on backwards, with that lip on the forend of the stock, you can't connect the bipod. I have to put a big rubber packer between the stock and bipod mount if I want to put it on properly. O...

Thanks for the help guys.

Went and bought a set of el-cheapo bunny ear sand bags. Front and Back were in a pack for $50. Testing them out(plus my first rifle :D) this Saturday at Little River.

Here's a pic... it's a BRNO Model 5.

What equipment do you use for sighting in?

Hey guys, I'm heading to the range on Saturday and wanted to get my .22 dead on. After sighting it in I want to test various amounts of ammo to see which my rifle likes best. I've got myself a bi-pod and was thinking of either making my own sand bags or buying a proper rear rest.... like one with bu...
