Re: knife pattern

Google Bob Loveless 4" drop point, that's the style I use and carry the most. Second is one along the lines of the Puma hunters pal. Both good for detailing with bigger stuff in the bush, however if you are working off a hook the traditional style butchers/slaughtermans style knife is hard to b...

Re: Vortex viper- opinions

I run a Viper HS 4-16 on my 22.250, optically it's the best scope I own, but I dont have any big dollar stuff to compare it with, VXii's are sort of my idea of a good scope for my budget. Mine has the BDC reticle which is very fine IMO, never had grief with it and would gladly own another one.

Re: Removing rear sight from a mod 2

I,ll post one up to tomorrow night, but yeah the mount is fixed to the barrel. I thought the drifting would be an option, I just get cautious as that little bigger Murphy seems to appear every time I attempt stuff like that.

Removing rear sight from a mod 2

Anyone know how to flick the rear iron sight off a Mod 2 Brno, I just need it off to get the eye relief right.

Re: Making a knife - sort of

My young fella uses Gilly Stehenson Carbanuba wax on timber handles on the say of a few of the long term knife makers , Tung oil is also popular, I think most decent quality finishes would be suitable.

Re: Making a knife - sort of

You're rooted now mate :D it is an addictive past time that gets a hold on you, next you'll try different styles, making sheaths for them and get curious about grinding and heat treating. Good luck with it and enjoy, I used to scoff at blokes who said there is a certain amount of pleasure in using a...

CCI stuff mate, I don't know how true it is but some say all the brass comes out of one or two main manuacturing plants, CCI was what we got the best groups out of, tried CCI , Hornady , Remington and a mate gave me half a box of Winshitter, and man didn't that stuff shoot all over the place , out o...

Re: Marlin 17HMR

I got one for my young bloke a while back, synthetic stock, heavy barrel, goes well, good honest rifle, and I'm far from a 17hmr fan, we did take it to the local gunsmith and spent the best $50 you'll ever spend, and had the trigger done. Put some good mounts and a reliable scope on it and you'll ha...

Kickinback, TUS Industries in the states do one of the better stencils that we've come across. Longer lasting provided you clean them and look after them, nice and clear and they are good to deal with.

Here’s a few pic’s of one I finished last week, it’s a style of knife I’ve always had a liking for and along the lines of the knife that I bought almost 30 years ago, which cost me a fair portion of a week’s wage as an apprentice Panel Beater.
