Re: another 17 fireball question

My #49 Lyman reloading manual show a trim length of 1.400 " for the .17 Remington Fireball. For the best accuracy all of your cases should be the same length.

GriMo wrote: A different website i was looking at recently had a formula to give a comparative index. using the above figures the 22-250 is slight overbore approx 1100. The 17-06 comes in at a toasty 2300

Could you please provide the equation for the above math or the name of the web site you found it own?

You can use the below link and down load the Point Blank program for free. I use it and it works pretty good.

Re: Anyone have any loads for 222 and 35gr vmax's

I had 10 Nosler 40 grain BT's left over on my bench also. I measured them and they were either .689" or .690". Much more consistant in length than the V-Max. Your question made me courious.

Re: Anyone have any loads for 222 and 35gr vmax's

I measured the 40 grain v-max I had on my bench. I had 25 of them, I measured all of them.

The shortest was 17.57 mm and the longest was 17.67 mm.
