Prefer BFG's myself, have them on my 100series. Can't say I have ever had traction issues on the bitumen with them. I reckon the 100 would be on its side before it slid on bitumen.
No experience at all with the pirellies.

Re: Round nose 30 cal bullet's in Tikka T3's
Yeah I know I have three 8 twist 223, 6.5x55 which is the slickest of the 3 and a 30/06. my usual method is bolt closed on empty chamber and de cocked at the same time. It's a pity that the mag length is too short in the 223 and long cal's needing to seat projectiles so deep to fit in the magazine....

Re: Round nose 30 cal bullet's in Tikka T3's
I have used the Woodleigh 220gn in my 30-06 without any problems. I reckon I have probably chambered between 100 and 150 of these rounds as I originally loaded 200 and have just over 50 left. The thing I have noticed with the Tikka T3 is that the action is slick as duck shit and it can load a round ...

Re: Haven't reloaded a round since January 2015
Hello gents and thanks for the welcome back from all of you As to the specifics Lone rider I have missed all of you blokes :) Missed, I still have the catkiller. Interestingly at the 20th birthday celebrations for Arid Recovery I was told I had killed and autopsied over 3000 cats over a period of te...

Haven't reloaded a round since January 2015
Haven't visited the forums in a while and reading here made me realise I haven't reloaded since I moved south from Roxby. I have had a bit of shooting time but nothing like I used too. I can count the number of nights spotlighting on two hands and still have about 250 loaded rounds for the 204. Most...

Re: Waeco Fridge Repairs
Might help or not My old man and his best mate are the sort of blokes that pull things apart to see how they work. Unlike many they also look for potential trouble spots, fix them and then put them back together. When his mate got a new Waeco not long after they were released they found a lot of the...

Outstanding piece of timber lawsie, I love the Circassian Walnut CZ uses. Way more figure than black walnut or young English walnut and without the expense.

Re: Spotlighting set ups
We run two roof mounted HID spotlights, 2 vehicle (driving) spotlights, 2 fridges, and aircon. Because of the need to stay on track we spend a lot of time stationary, while the shooter walks out to recover the cat or fox. In the summer when the temp never gets below 37 I was having a lot of duty cyc...

Re: Leupold FX scopes
Knackers I have one on my HMR (6 power) and I love it. I found that when spotlighting I rarely changed the magnification on my variables anyway. And for the HMR the 6 power gives me enough magnification for the longer shots and plenty of field of view for the closer shots. Regarding lens quality I c...
